THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is the best sounding eight-tube AM-FM set that Zenith made before going to solid state and PC boards. It is all hand-wired, with an 8-inch mid-range bass speaker and a 3-1/2" treble-tweeter. It has the original knobs and back. It has two dial lights, a built in AM antenna and uses the power cord for an FM antenna. It is in a walnut case with an ivory plastic front. The case has been refinished. The knobs are missing some chrome plating but most of these models are, they get worn off by using them so much!
I went through this set, replaced weak tubes, all wax caps and the selenium rectifier was replaced by a diode and dropping resistor. It is very sensitive and selective on both bands. The bass response and treble make this "High Fidelity" for sure. This would make a great radio for home or office. I have one just like it playing on my work bench! 15-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 8"D. |
