THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The RCA T6-9 is the 1935 version of the 1936 T6-11. None has ever sold on the Attic and I don't know if there is any difference. While not gussied up with a lot of frills, this radio is quite an excellent performer. The smooth vernier mechanism makes for accurate tuning. The receiver sensitivity is very good. The sound is excellent from the 8-inch speaker. The finish is very nice, with the usual few blemishes from 88 years of service. For some reason, RCA put in a three-position tone switch, but only utilized two of them. I re-engineered it to give three levels of tone control. Original grille cloth, with a reproduction brightly lit dial. The blotchiness in the top photo is not as bad as the photo booth made it look. Broadcast and 5 MHz short wave band. Requires an external antenna. If great performance is important to you, this radio has it at a moderate price point. 17"H x 13"W x 9"D. |
