FADA 169 (1939)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

FADA 169 (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I think this is my first FADA, and I have come away with a good impression. The chassis is well made. They put a lot of attractive solid wood in the good looking cabinet which I gave a very nice, slick finish. The speaker grille is eye catching, and the shiny gold leaf dial is very striking. The sound is very good from the perfect 5-inch speaker, Receives quite well on the internal antenna. Requires an external antenna for shortwave. Broadcast and two short wave bands. I had to make the dial glass. The back cover had one corner missing, but I didn't want to lose the big, beautiful "Fadascope" sticker, so I just patched it. All new capacitors, resistors as necessary and a full alignment. This is a very uncommon radio. None has ever sold on the attic. Taken all together, it is a great looking radio, with a very good performing chassis and a nice slick finish. No idea what it is worth, so I'm making a guess and pricing it to sell! 17"W x 10-1/2"H x 8-1/2"D.
