Philco 41-250 (1941)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Philco 41-250 (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Philco 41-250 is basically a console radio, with all of the same advanced features, except with the bottom cabinet removed and a speaker put in the top. Quite large for a table model, the cabinet is ornate and very attractive with very nice booked veneer on the top. The eight-tube chassis is very advanced, with seven presets, broadcast and two shortwave bands. Receiver sensitivity is very good on the internal antenna. I spent 25 bucks for an external antenna adapter to put on the strange Philco external antenna jack for long range reception. The grille cloth, escutcheon, dial glass and knobs are reproductions. The buttons are what was on it. The brass knob ID bar was damaged by the shrinking of the original Tenite escutcheon. I fixed it the best I could. The wood was pretty grainy, so I gave it 18 coats of lacquer for a very nice, nearly perfect finish. All in all, a very classy, advanced, great sounding table radio. 19"W x 11"H x 13"D.
