My friend Bill Skaggs has struck again with another totally unknown but totally endearing four-tube TRF from the early 30s. The cabinet is nearly perfect, with a lot of highlights in the veneer and some nice etching on the front. I gave it a gorgeous, slick finish. The result is a very eye catching little radio. The camera made the right side photo a little reddish. It actually matches the rest of the set just fine. The grille cloth is what was in it. I gave it a full set of tubes that all test to new specs. New capacitors and resistors as necessary. A fairly large 6-inch speaker for a low budget radio gives it decent sound. Receiver sensitivity is what you expect from a four-tube set. All in all an extremely attractive little radio at an attractive price. 12-1/2"H x 10"W x 8"D. |
