THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This one-of-a-kind Oriole 4A "farm radio" was manufactured in the early 1930s by Radio Products Corporation of Chicago Ill. If you are the kind of person that wants to own the only one in the world, this one is for you. If you see the one on Radio Museum, this is that set. The cabinet is beautifully restored in conventional walnut with Spanish walnut detailing. Fully recapped, with resistors as necessary and a full alignment. This was my first radio restoration, before I knew not to buy battery sets, so I bit the bullet and bought the $75 power kit from Antique Radios. The original battery plug is still complete and usable. The knobs are what came on it, and one is not original. It is interesting that this set is "instant on" with almost no warmup period. It is a very nice little set. I'm obviously losing my shirt at this price. I hope someone will fall in love with it. |
