The AX-212, referred to as the "Bullseye" model due to the Ingraham cabinet style, was designed by Alexis de Sakhnoffsky, who designed the highly collectable "Mae West" Emerson radio. Emerson touted the "Miracle Sound Chamber" to address the poor sound quality of small radios. This is the very rare Quilted Maple version with green Teflon inlays. The AX-212 is a five-tube, AM only AC/DC radio. All of the capacitors have been replaced with new equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. The radio was professionally refinished in a semi-gloss lacquer. The chassis, knobs and speaker are original. It has a new, clear dial cover and a reproduction back. This seldom seen Maple version of the "Bullseye" can be the star of an Emerson collection, or any collection for that matter! 9-1/2"W x 5-3/4"H x 4"D. |
