General Electric E-50 (1937)
(wood tube table radio)

General Electric E-50 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

General Electric has been manufacturing quality home appliances for the better part of a decade, and their radios are no exception. With origins starting with Thomas Edison, and with the financing of J.P. Morgan, became a company in 1892. RCA and AT&T were all born from General Electric. The E-50 is a five-tube, two-band (AM, police) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were replaced where necessary. A new polarized power cord, safety fuse and audio input cable were installed. This radio performs well all across the band. Gary stripped the Mahogany cabinet and refinished the radio to a gorgeous "piano" lacquer finish. The original knobs, speaker, chassis and dial are with the radio. I feel this is one of the nicer wooden radios they made with the beautiful contrasting veneers. This is a great playing, good looking radio priced to sell! Make it yours today! 12"W x 8-1/2"H x 6"D.
