1936 through 1939 were the best years for Superheterodyne radios, with 1937 being one of my favorite years for electrical innovation and cabinet design. This sought after Silvertone version of a "cube" design was the top of the line in 1937. A great performer and a simply gorgeous cabinet with four different types of veneer. This seven-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) is a strong performer with plenty of volume. We replaced all of the capacitors with new equivalents, checked and replaced tubes and resistors where needed. The new eye-tube is bright and responsive. We added a safety fuse, new power cord, new antenna lead and a cable for your external devices. Gary stripped and refinished the cabinet, and it's one of the nicest 4764's I have seen! The Tenite escutcheon is in perfect condition as are the original knobs and speaker. The dial faces original and stands up to close scrutiny. These are hard to find folks, and this one is perfect! 17"W x 14"H x 9"D. |
