I have always liked Firestone radios. They are for the most part a good quality radio and sported some very nice cabinets. The bulk of them were made by Stewart Warner, and they used other manufacturers as well, and marketed the radios in their tire stores. The 7403-9 is an eight-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) radio. All of the capacitors have been replaced with new equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. A new power cord, safety fuse and external audio cable were installed. The cabinet is original, and is one of the nicest originals I have seen in a while. I simply polished it up and there you have it! A few types of veneer: Walnut, Maple and Australian Laurel. The speaker has been professionally replaced and works well. The radio has great fidelity and plenty of volume. Just a gorgeous set for anyone's collection! 17"W x 15-1/2"H x 9-1/2"D. |
