THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
One of the more elusive "cube" models by Zenith, the 5-S-126 utilizes the same chassis as the 5-S-119 and the 5-S-127 models. The latter two models being a huge sales success for Zenith, where as quite a few less of the 5-S-126 were manufactured, making them harder to find today. The 5-S-126 is a five-tube, three-band (AM,SWx2) radio. The speaker points upward from the top of the cabinet, so be careful when you move the radio. The capacitors have been replaced with new equivalents. The resistors and tubes have been checked and replaced where necessary. A new power cord, safety fuse and external audio cable have been installed. The radio is a very good performer with lots of sensitivity across the dial. The cabinet was professionally stripped and refinished with high-quality products. The final step was the application of a high gloss lacquer. The radio is like you would have found it at a local Zenith dealer in 1937. The original knobs are with the set. A new, period-correct reproduction grille cloth was installed. The most difficult Zenith cube to find is right here, ready for your collection! 14"H x 11-1/2"W x 9-1/2"D. |
