Crosley 637 "Super 6" (1938)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Crosley 637 "Super 6" (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

For the 1938 model year, Crosley produced three great sellers for the company: the "Fiver," "Super 6," and the "Super 8." The number designating the tube count of each radio and its variations. The Super 6 and the Super 8 were unique in that they both had a "push-pull" audio stage with matching power tubes, using a six-inch and eight-inch speaker respectively. These radios produced a lot of volume, almost console-like for a table radio. The 617 is a six-tube, two-band (AM,SW) radio. The capacitors were all replaced with new equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. A new power cord, safety fuse, antenna lead and audio input were installed. The radio has tons of volume and great sensitivity across the dial. The cabinet was stripped, grain-filled and painted. A gorgeous "piano" lacquer finish was applied. The original knobs, speaker, doublet, installation tags and owners manual are included. This beautiful, strong performing Crosley is ready for your collection! 14"W x 9"H x 7"D.
