Zenith 6-D-525 "Toaster" (1941)
(wood tube table radio)

Zenith 6-D-525 "Toaster" (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Zenith radios are still our best sellers. Everyone wants at least one in their collection, but the reality is they probably have a few more. The 6-D-525 is one of the most popular, maybe because of the Ingraham cabinet (Zenith didn't have many) and that they are quite affordable even fully restored. Besides being stylish, they are also small, and easily displayed. The 6-D-525 is a six-tube, AM only set. We replaced all of the capacitors, checked resistors and tubes, replacing where needed. An audio cable was installed. These All-American six, AC/DC sets are good performers. Lots of volume and good sensitivity, utilizing the "Wave Magnet" internal loop antenna. I could guess that Gary has probably refinished at least 50 of these sets over the years. Beautiful matched burl walnut on the front, and that unique walnut cabinet are gorgeous! We kept the original power cord, back, knobs, grille cloth and dial cover. If you haven't got yours, this one just might fit the bill. Zenith made a lot of these before cutting back radio production before the war, but they are getting harder and harder to find. 12"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D.
