Aria 175 (1938)

Aria 175 (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
Aria was one of a hundred brands built by Detrola, and was sold in Allied department stores. Detrola supplied Western Auto (Truetone) and Sears (Silvertone), just to name two, with thousands of radios. They were the most productive company in the USA providing radios for department stores and small retailers. The chassis used in the Aria was used in many table radios and consoles under different sellers. The 175 is a eight-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) radio. It produces a ton of volume with push-pull audio through a Rola eight-inch speaker. The radio features motorized tuning which functions perfectly. The capacitors have been replaced, and all of the resistors and tubes have been checked and replaced where necessary. A safety fuse, audio cable, new tuning eye and a new power cable have been installed. Gary stripped the radio and refinished with a "piano" hand-rubbed lacquer finish. An excellent example of the Aria version of this Detrola-made radio. 21"W x 12"H x 9"D.
