THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The St. Regis line was manufactured and sold by International Radio Corp, commonly known as Kadette. They produced one of the first AC/DC radios that utilized a Bakelite cabinet. They were fairly successful until they started producing larger ten-tube radios. This lead to the inevitable end of the company, and it later started manufacturing cameras and became Argus in 1936. The model 661 is a five-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) AC/DC radio and is a solid performer. The detailed dial is in perfect condition. We replaced all of the capacitors. Checked tubes and resistors, replacing where needed. A safety fuse and power chord were installed, and we added a cable for your external devices. The cabinet for this radio is impressive. It uses two types of walnut, a beautiful quilted maple front, and the top walnut veneer is sided by Teakwood. Something else you rarely see is a piece of Douglas fir as a support brace in the back. There is a lot of detailed veneer work, and Gary has masterfully refinished this radio! The knobs are original as is the Altec-Lansing speaker. This gorgeous and rare radio will be a talking point of you collection. Not too big, and not too small. 19"H x 14"W x 9"D.
