Stromberg-Carlson 225H (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Stromberg-Carlson 225H (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here we have one of the more sought after Stromberg-Carlson radios. This Art Deco design is flawless, with its use of Rosewood veneer for the main body of the radio. There is a maple inlay, sided by oak and walnut, a beautiful combination of veneers. A tulip motif of the ebony grille and the octagonal dial make this iconic radio pop! This five-tube, three-band (SB, SW, police) radio performs well. It has a lot of sensitivity across the dial as Stromberg-Carlson was well known for quality products. We went through the radio replacing all of the capacitors, checked and replaced resistors and tubes where needed. We added a safety fuse and installed a cable to "plug and play" your external device. A full alignment was completed, and this radio is ready to go! Gary didn't have to do much to the cabinet as it was in great original condition. He cleaned it up, and applied a thin coat of lacquer. A new grille cloth and original knobs completed the restoration. These radios are hard to find, and this is a wonderful example of an iconic design. 16"W x 9"H x 8"D.
