THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
In 1937 Zenith came out with four models of the famous "Walton" radio for the 1938 model year. The 9-S-232 (second only to the rare 12-S-232) is a nine-tube three-band (SB, SWx2) radio retaining its original 8-inch Zenith speaker, motor drive tuning, shutter dial (Robot Dial) and tuning eye. Joe's Radio Shop has dug into our reserves and added a bright Zenith 6T5 tuning eye, only available on Zenith radios in 1938. The tubes, capacitors and resistors have been tested and replaced as needed by Blake, and he added a safety fuse and a cable to plug and play your own device. Gary refinished the cabinet with the proper toners and applied several coats of lacquer with an eye towards an original factory finish. A new reproduction grille cloth is an accurate copy of the original. This Walton radio plays loud and clear with lots of tone for years of listening pleasure. 23"H x 18"W x 13"D. |
