Pilot T1424
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Pilot T1424

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a massive table radio sporting twelve tubes and a huge speaker. Recapped, all tubes checked, power cord replaced with a vintage plug, and aligned. Brand-new bright green NOS tuning eye. The escutcheon is Bakelite, so it hasn't (and won't ever) warp or shrink. The knobs are original and feature the Pilot crest. The back cover is a carefully-constructed replacement. This radio has AM and two shortwave bands and a two-speed tuning system (coarse and fine) on the same shaft. Huge dial with lots of bandspread. The finish is in good shape, with three minor areas of finish loss (potted plants) on top, and a few minor dings and scratches elsewhere. This set is unusual in that it lacks a power transformer. Pilot made stuff for export, and this set has a ballast tube that you could swap to match the voltage in your country. Currently, it has a ballast tube for 120V operation. Due to the size of this set, I'd recommend Greyhound for shipping, but I'll be happy to work with whatever shipping method you choose. Local pickup is always available. An unusual and fairly rare monster of a set that sounds great and will be the centerpiece of any room. 25"W x 15"H x 13"D; 40+ pounds.
