Sparta "Junior" (1935)
(wood tube table radio)

Sparta "Junior" (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

First time on The Attic, first time I have Ever seen a Sparta set. Obviously, the name is a "take-off" on the well-known Sparton radios of the same vintage. Clever! Eye catching crisp looking dial, which glows red in a dimly lit room, drawing your attention to it. Plays well for a Depression-era TRF set. I chose not to refinish the cabinet, though it has a little wear, the accents and originality were simply polished. The grille cloth is an era correct replacement. All the capacitors have been replaced with modern types, out of tolerance resistors replaced, tubes checked and replaced where needed, antenna lead installed, polarized power cord and is fused for your protection. It plays nicely on the AM broadcast band. Add this one to your collection and likely you'll have the only Sparta anyone has ever seen. I accept mailed checks as payment. 10-3/4"W x 7-1/2"H x 6"D.
