Air Castle 14-136EA (1938)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Air Castle 14-136EA (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Gorgeous radio, which was manufactured by Detrola for Air Castle, Spiegel's name brand. A glorious Art Deco influenced design in a lovely cabinet with a green "magic" tuning eye. Like most, I've always found the green eye tube to be very mesmerizing in a dark room; imagining families gathered around it listening to the old radio series, like Boston Blackie and Fibber McGee and Molly. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster, paying respect to the original detailed finish. The set retains its original knobs and has correct era correct replacement grille cloth and a new eye tube. All the capacitors have been replaced with modern types, out of tolerance resistors replaced, tubes checked and replaced where needed, antenna lead installed, and a new fused polarized power cord installed, and it plays very nicely on both the AM and shortwave band. I accept mailed checks as payment. 18"W x 10"H x 6-1/2"D.
