Airline 62-425 (1937)
(wood tube table radio)

Airline 62-425 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Sold in Montgomery Ward stores, as this was their private label brand. This Airline produced for them by Stromberg-Carlson. The 62-425 is very collectible and is referred to as the "Indian Head" radio because of the resemblance the grille scrollwork has to that of an American Indian (visualize an Indian facing left as his feather headdress faces to the right). You'll definitely want to add this one to your den, office or collection. This cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a wonderful luster, paying respect to the original finish. All of the capacitors have been replaced with modern types, out of tolerance resistors replaced, tubes checked and replaced where needed, antenna lead installed, and a new fused polarized power cord installed. New period correct grille cloth. I have added an audio input so you may listen to your own supplied music. Plays very nicely on the AM Broadcast band. 10-1/2"W x 7-1/4"H x 6"D.
