Zenith 6-D-525 "Toaster" (1941)
(wood tube table radio)

Zenith 6-D-525 "Toaster" (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A beautifully designed wooden Zenith that doesn't come up too often for sale in this condition. It has been given the nickname "the Toaster" by many collectors due to the openings around the entire cabinet and was manufactured for Zenith by the Ingraham Cabinet Company. Actually, the design is near genius, as the venting helps the radio run cooler for long periods of playing time. The sound that it emanates is just wonderfully warm, as you would expect from a Zenith and the big black dial with the big "Z" airplane style dial pointer draws your attention straight to this radio. The cabinet was restored a while back and the radio has been in our living room, viewed and admired daily. Original white "Z" knobs, original speaker cloth and the original back. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), and it plays superb on the AM Broadcast band. I've added an MP3 input for your enjoyment should you wish listen to your own supplied music instead of just the broadcast band. 12"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D.
