Motorola 59T-2 "World's Fair" (1938)
(wood tube table radio)

Motorola 59T-2 "World's Fair" (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Rarely do you see one of these for sale or even in someone's collection, as they are hard to acquire. Designed for the 1938 World's Fair introduction, which drew quite a lot of attention to Motorola as a radio manufacturer. No external knobs (recessed in the top of the cabinet) and a very unique curved dial. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster, paying respect to the original detailed finish. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast band. 11-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x7"D.
