Pilot X-47 (1940)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Pilot X-47 (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Pilot of Brooklyn, NY, produced extremely high quality, very well engineered radios. The X-47, a top of the line offering for 1940, was an optional export model with the ability to operate on different voltages, including direct current, this making this particular radio even more collectible. Pilots are highly coveted by serious collectors and very rarely comes up for sale here on The Attic or elsewhere, as they nominally remain in collections for decades. With its new green eye tube, it is very mesmerizing in a dark room. The cabinet's original finish has been touched up, using very finest toning and finishing lacquers, paying respect to the original finish. The set retains its original knobs, back and grille cloth. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on both the AM and both shortwave bands and utilizes either the internal loop antenna or an antenna wire (included). I have added an MP3 input so you may listen to your own supplied music if you wish and the sound is superb through its 8” original speaker. 22"W x 13"H x 13-1/4"D.
