Zenith 5-R-226 "Child's Console" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

What could be any better than a highly prized Zenith "Child's Console" from 1937? One that has the original bill of sale, original finish, knobs, grille cloth and even the original felt knob washers, that's what! Believe it or not, Zenith advertised these as "...just like Dad's...made especially for children..." Well, they typically never survived past any kid's childhood. Difficult to come by and highly collectible. The cabinet is in lovely condition for its age, just took a little bit of love in polishing it. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety, plus has a period correct new cloth cord and bakelite plug), and it plays very nicely on the AM Broadcast band. I've added an MP3 input for your enjoyment, should you wish listen to your own supplied music, such as Glenn Miller or Jack Teagarden. Don't miss the opportunity to add this scarce, original Zenith to your collection. 16"H x 9"W x 9-3/4"D.
