Air Castle 14-136EA (1938)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Air Castle 14-136EA (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A beautiful radio, which was manufactured by Detrola for Air Castle, Spiegel's name brand. A glorious Art Deco influenced design in a lovely cabinet with a "magic" tuning eye. Like most, I've always found the green eye tube to be very mesmerizing in a dark room, imagining families gathered around it listening to the old radio series, like the Green Hornet, Boston Blackie and Fibber McGee and Molly. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster, paying respect to the original detailed finish with the ever so light edge darkening as original. The set retains its original knobs and grille cloth. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on both the AM and shortwave bands. I have added an MP3 input so you may listen to your own supplied music if you wish. 18"W x 10"H x 6-1/2"D.
