Western Air Patrol 159 (1939)
(wood tube table radio)

Western Air Patrol 159 (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Offered for the first time on the Radio Attic is a difficult to find Western Air Patrol model 159. Western Air Patrol, distributed from Los Angeles, represented one of the few manufactures on the West Cost. Likely produced by Gilfillan Brothers, also on the West Coast, for Western Auto, whose headquarters was in Kansas City. This is a unique radio with Art Deco influence, what with its Tenite black grille, push buttons, rounded sides, horizontal dial marker and rear tone control. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast band with its internal loop antenna. 13"W x 8"H x 6-1/4"D.
