Stewart-Warner R1235-A "The Aristocrat" Tombstone (1933)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Stewart-Warner R1235-A "The Aristocrat" Tombstone (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Gorgeous chrome front grille with front burled side veneer, original grille cloth and knobs. The finish, for all of its 85 years, is still very presentable, though has some expected wear. The coloring on the front just amazes me as to how beautiful it is. I did lovingly polish it, wanting the next owner to enjoy its originality as I have. Smallish superhet tombstone with just four tubes; it is amazing how well it performs and sounds. Maybe that's why everyone loves Stewart-Warner radios: performance and design. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and is internally fused for your safety), has a new cloth period correct power cord, Bakelite power plug, and it receives AM broadcast stations very nicely. This model rarely is offered for sale and will certainly be the focal point of anyone's collection. 12-7/16"H x 9-3/4"W x 7-1/2"D.
