Aetna 30A67W (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Aetna 30A67W (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Back in the day, numerous retail stores sold their own branded radios and Walgreen's was no exception. Mount Aetna was the logo for these radios and was prominently displayed on their dials. This one is a very cute and smallish tombstone with a very detailed, decorative Art Deco influenced dial bezel. This appears to be the first time this unusual model has been available for sale on The Attic. I refinished the cabinet several years ago, using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers and it is still lovely. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast band, much better than you would expect from a four-tube TRF set and it sounds very nice, picking up all the stations in my area. The shortwave band is what some refer to as Police Band, which is not overly active today. 13-1/8"H x 10-3/4"W x 6"D.
