Detrola 154E (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Detrola 154E (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Detrola, Michigan's largest radio manufacturer in the day, had some of the most beautiful radios around. Though Detrola did a good business with retailers, they also distributed private branded radios to stores like Gimbal's. This 154E, similar to the 118, has very subtle Art Deco influence with its shapely curved sides and grille cut-outs. The new green eye tube is bright and quite mesmerizing to look at in a darkened room. This is the first time this model has been offered for sale on The Attic. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a lovely finish. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), and it plays very nicely on the AM and shortwave bands. I've added an MP3 input for your listening enjoyment should you wish listen to your own supplied music, such as Hellen Shaw or Benny Goodman. 16"W x 9-3/4"H x 7"D.
