Truetone D-727 (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Truetone D-727 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Unusually rare, impressive and a difficult to find radio, which is not often seen and less often for sale, especially in this nice condition. Detrola manufactured this for the Western Auto Stores as their "Truetone" brand. A wonderful nine-tube chassis, it receives the Broadcast band (550 to 1700 KC) and Short Wave in two bands from 1.7 to 17 MC. The green magic tuning "eye" tube is very bright and distinctive, a huge Rola 8" speaker emits great sound, nine station pre-sets with motorized tuning (works well) using the pushbuttons that are below the dial, and a brightly illuminated crisp colorful dial for evening use. The cabinet has been lovingly restored to closely match the color combinations as when it was new. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), and it plays very nicely on the AM Broadcast band. I've added an MP3 input for your listening enjoyment should you wish listen to your own supplied music. 21"W x 11-1/2"H x 9"D.
