THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
A very cute, small Japanese radio that was imported from 1961-1963. This radio represents what might be called "the Last Stand for Tube Radios." Quite simply put, it was the end of an era for tubes, as everything was changing to transistors. Japan exported many of these under different names, most of all were similar design both style and with an efficient five-tube circuit. In the last few years, they have become highly collectible because so few survived due to size and their fragile nature. This one has a beautiful, shiny black and white plastic cabinet, original knobs and back. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety). The reception is excellent on the AM broadcast band, just extend the antenna wire. The cabinet has been hand polished to preserve its elegance. 6-1/2"W x 4-1/2"H x 3-3/4"D. |
