THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
A beautiful and quite small set, which was designed and produced by Detrola for Silvertone. You may have noticed this set is a virtual clone of Detrola's coveted "Pee Wee." These were known as "curtain burner" radios due to the use of the power cord to reduce incoming voltage for their four-tube chassis. The amazing solid walnut cabinet has been refinished using the finest grain fillers, toning and finishing lacquers producing a stunning finish. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), modern components eliminated the "curtain burner" power cord and it plays nicely on the AM Broadcast band. The rear black cardboard back is a nice reproduction. I've added an MP3 input for your listening enjoyment should you wish listen to your own supplied music, such as Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman. 8"W x 5"H x 4-1/2"D. |
