Here is a nice Airline which began its life as a battery set, most likely on a farm, before rural electrification in the 1940's. It has been correctly modified for modern AC power through the use of tube updates and an updated power supply. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for safety). It has a rich, warm sound on the AM broadcast band. In addition, the antenna is internal, so no exterior antenna wire is necessary. I am quite amazed with how well this early set pulls in the stations! The cabinet had been refinished sometime in the past, so it was cleaned and polished, yielding a very attractive shine. No doubt this difficult Airline will be a favorite in your collection. 11-1/2"W x 10-1/2"H x 7-1/2"D. |
