Zenith 5-S-228 Tombstone (1938)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Zenith 5-S-228 Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This beautiful pre-War Zenith sounds as good as it looks. Some would call it a tall cube, while other would say it is a small tombstone. Whatever you call it, it is drop dead gorgeous! The famous black dial with the airplane style dial pointer is signature Zenith! Well lit, you can easily see it in a dimly lit room. The chassis has been completely restored and the set receives very well on both the AM broadcast band and Shortwave (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety). I have also added a mini-jack so you can play media from your MP3 player, or another audio input source, so you'll have the potential for hours upon hours of unlimited listening enjoyment. The cabinet has been restored using the finest lacquers available and it has a wonderful eye appeal that draws you to the set. It retains the original wooden "Z" knobs and grille cloth, which makes a nice bonus for a Zenith that is somewhat hard to come by. 15-1/2"H x 10"W x 9"D.
