THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This Black Hawk radio, the only one of its kind that I've ever seen, was probably sold by a local department store chain. Chief Blackhawk (1767-1838), leader of the Sauk tribe, had to have been the influence for the name of this radio. The term "Chief Among Fine Radios" was quite a clever marketing slogan used to influence buyers towards the brand. The cabinet has been restored along with a few repairs to the back. The finest lacquers and stains were used to bring out the beauty of the wood. The contrasting cabinet colors really make this set "pop" and its eye appeal is quite something. The electronics have been completely restored and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast band. You will enjoy having this one in your collection and like me, will likely be the only one you've ever seen before. 9-1/2"W x 6"H x 5-1/4"D. |
