General Television & Radio 524 (1947)
(wood tube table radio)

General Television & Radio 524 (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A well sought after General TV & Radio model. This shares the same chassis as its cousin the 2A5, but has a slightly different cabinet. This is the first one I've ever seen and I believe likely the first one offered for sale on The Attic. The finish is original and quite shiny (excuse all the reflections), with little wear for its age. There is a small veneer "flea bite" on the left front bottom, but is hardly noticeable. The finish was too nice to re-do, so it was polished; a new clear dial cover was added, which accents the beautiful airplane style red dial pointer. This is a wonderful playing radio on the AM broadcast band, picking up stations close and far away with a sweet sound. The electronics have been completely restored and this little beauty is ready for you to enjoy now! If you'd like to add an input jack for listening to your own audio source from a MP3 type device, please do let me know. 9"W x 6-1/2"H x 5"D.
