Aetna was the private label brand radio of Walgreens Drug Stores for many years. This brand is distinguished by the colorful painting of Mt. Aetna Mountain on the dial. Aetna radios are highly sought after by radio and Art Deco collectors alike. Like most dials of this era, they were reverse painted and striking contrasting colors were used, making them stand out beautifully. This is a TRF set consisting of both the AM broadcast and shortwave bands. A nice sounding set and typical of its early design, the longer the antenna wire, the better the station's reception. The cabinet has been refinished with the finest lacquers, accenting the beauty of the wood. The electronics have been completely restored to ensure many years of listening enjoyment. 10"W x 8"H x 6-1/2"D.
