Air King 701 Manufactured For O'Neil's (1937)
(wood tube table radio)

Air King 701 Manufactured For O'Neil's (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Air King was distributed By O'Neil's Department Stores under their own name. O'Neil's was founded in the Akron Ohio area in the 1870's and through numerous mergers and buyouts, ultimately was consumed by Macys. This is exactly the same as the Air King's model 701, except it has O'Neil on the front bronze tag. Like most radios of this period, you can see the subtle art deco influences. In addition to a bright green magic eye, it has a gorgeous backlit colorful dial and red dial pointer. I have provided two pictures of the front, one in a dim room so you can see the multitude of colors and the other in a normally lighted room. I sure hope you appreciate the style and design of this era as much as I do! Its cabinet has been carefully refinished to match the original colors and the electronics have been restored. 12-3/4"W x 7-3/4"H x 6"D.
