Marshall 147 (1937)
(wood tube table radio)

Marshall 147 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Very few radios of this era had such colorful dials as this Marshall retains. Normally I would show the front in average room light, but I've tried to show the beautifully lighted dial as well as the bright green magic eye. It is curvy, Art Deco and drop dead gorgeous. It has regular AM broadcast, plus two shortwave bands, which illuminate the particular dial section when selected, an amazing engineering feat for the times. When I finished this one, it almost didn't make the Attic, as I was very tempted to keep it myself. Its cabinet has been carefully refinished to match the original colors and the electronics have been restored. 16"W x 9-1/2"H x 7-1/2"D.
