THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Airline was a radio sold in Montgomery Ward stores and was their own private label brand. As you would expect from a retailer, various manufacturers supplied their products and this Airline was actually supplied to them by Belmont. The 62-425 is very collectible and is referred to as the "Indian Head" radio because of the resemblance the grille scrollwork has to that of an American Indian (visualize him facing left as his feather headdress faces to the right). It obviously was influenced by the Art Deco movement of the time and has an amazing look about it. You'll want to add this one to your den, office or collection. Its cabinet has been carefully refinished to match the original colors and the electronics have been restored, giving you a big smile every time you listen to your favorite program or a hear your home team playing on this radio. 10-1/2"W x 7-1/4"H x 6-1/4"D. |
