This Admiral is a classic All-American Five Bakelite table radio. Offered in the postwar years when customers were buying a second radio for the kitchen or bedroom, compact and relatively inexpensive radios like this were very popular. Although this one was originally black, some minor surface damage made this a perfect candidate for painting, and it looks great in red! The chassis has been carefully restored with new capacitors, new resistors where needed, a strong set of tubes, and a full alignment to get it working like new. A new polarized power cord has been installed and the power switch wiring modified to bring this hot chassis design up to a more modern safety standard. This radio looks and sounds great.
