Kenwood KR-8010 AM-FM Stereo Receiver (1978)

Kenwood KR-8010 AM-FM Stereo Receiver (1978)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I almost don't want to sell this one! These high-end Japanese receivers from the late 1970s are technical and aesthetic works of art, with their brushed extruded aluminum front panels, diamond-machined knobs, analog meters, and nice slide-rule dials. This Kenwood KR-8010 was top of the line, with 125 watts per channel, five analog inputs (including two phono), three-band tone controls, two level FM muting, and dual tuning meters, among other features you can see. Outside it's nearly perfect to behold, and inside it's been given a better restoration than you'll usually see these get, with replacement of no less than all 107(!) electrolytic capacitors (including the two big filter caps) and an expert FM alignment. It works perfectly and is ready for its next 40+ years of service. This one has the original walnut veneer cabinet upgrade, and it looks excellent. I won't lie -- it's heavy, so it won't be the cheapest thing to ship. 22-3/4"W x 7-1/2"H x 16-3/4"D.
