RCA BP-10 "Personal" (1940)
(cloth/leather tube portable radio w/Aux or BT)

RCA BP-10 "Personal" (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

In 1940, RCA marked a milestone in the miniaturization of radio with the BP-10 "Personal Radio" -- a highly compact battery-powered portable using their newly introduced miniature low power tubes. Although this is really a "coat pocket" radio, the race toward future shirt pocket radios was on! This one looks very presentable. The fabric covering and handle have been replaced. There are hairline cracks near the hinges and one rear corner of the lid (like most of these have) but mechanical integrity is good. You'll be surprised at how well this works -- matching the sensitivity of any normal table radio -- and the tiny (for its day) speaker produces decent quality sound. All electrolytic and paper capacitors have been replaced, and the radio has had a full RF and IF alignment, so it works perfectly. The B battery you see in the picture contains six 9-volt batteries that you can easily replace when needed. A full set of new batteries is included, so you can play it right out of the box. Good original leather case included. Small and light, so shipping will be cheap! 9"W x 3"H x 3-3/4"D.
