This compact Zenith tombstone is simply gorgeous to behold. The dignified cabinet design uses several contrasting walnut and other veneers and stains to create visual contrast and structure. The lighted round dial has Zenith's famous lightning bolt "Z" pointer. The five-tube chassis incorporates all the good new technologies that came out in the 1930s, including diode audio detection (for distortion-free sound) and AVC. Electrical restoration included replacement of all paper and electrolytic capacitors, new resistors where needed, a strong set of tubes, and a full RF/IF alignment on both AM and SW for perfect reception. The original speaker is in great condition and sound quality is first rate. A vintage-style power cord and plug have been installed, and a fuse has been added internally for improved safety. My "Better Bluetooth" is available. 17"H x 11-1/2"W x 8-3/4"D. |
