Zenith Y600 "Trans-Oceanic" (1956)
(suitcase tube portable radio w/SW)

Zenith Y600 "Trans-Oceanic" (1956)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Zenith Trans-Oceanic radios have quite a following among collectors -- and for good reason. They represented the ultimate in portable short wave listening, and were often received as gifts for special occasions both at home and work. This one is nice and clean, with no defects or cracks in the plastic panel and the outer covering is in nice condition as well. The original schematic and owner's manual are in great shape, as are the logs under the top flip-down lid. Telescoping antenna and Wavemagnet are in good shape. Functionally, this one is as good as new, having been aligned to perfection. All of the usual restoration check list has been done -- new capacitors, selenium rectifier replaced with a silicon rectifier, new resistors where needed, and tubes checked (the vintage 1L6 checks very good). It sounds great, and sensitivity is good on all bands. New 1.5 V battery installed for the dial lamp, and an original "A" battery is included for nostalgia. 17-1/4"W x 11-1/4"H x 8"D.
