THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Zenith went head-to-head with the many German manufacturers selling good sounding AM-FM radios during the late 50s and early 60s. Since many German radios had electrostatic tweeters, Zenith did the same and included an electrostatic tweeter along with a 4x6-inch woofer in this nice-looking table radio. The cabinet has been refinished to look like new, and the seven-tube chassis has been restored to perform like new. Reception and sound quality on both AM and FM are great. Chassis restoration included a strong set of tubes, new electrolytic and tubular capacitors, replacement of the selenium rectifier with a silicon diode, and a full RF/IF alignment. Safety of this hot-chassis design was improved by installing a new polarized power cord with hot-side switch wiring and a fuse. This radio has a factory-installed phono input and my "Better Bluetooth" is available. 15"W x 9"H x 8-1/2"D. |
