Stromberg-Carlson 1500-H "Dynatomic" (1951)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Stromberg-Carlson 1500-H "Dynatomic" (1951)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

"Dynatomic" was the futuristic marketing name used by Stromberg Carlson for this stylish Bakelite table radio. Although more often seen in brown Bakelite, ivory painted Bakelite is the less common, but more attractive version. The cabinet is completely free of chips or cracks, and has been repainted to look like new. The knobs have a few scuffs, but they are not particularly obvious. The chassis has an extra tube for an RF amplifier stage, so sensitivity is superb. Electronic restoration included new capacitors throughout, new resistors where needed, replacement of the selenium rectifier with a silicon rectifier, a strong set of tubes, and a full RF/IF alignment for like-new performance. A new polarized power cord has been installed, along with the addition of a fuse, and modification of the power switch circuitry for hot-side switching for best possible safety. This radio has a 5-inch speaker -- larger than you'll find in most table radios of this size. Lighted dial. 12-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D.
