THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This beautiful Canadian Bakelite table radio has two nicknames: "Rainbow" (referring to the curved Machine Age grille pattern) and "Little Champ" (the marketing name used by Northern Electric). While it may appear completely black in the photos, it's actually a very dark swirled brown. The cabinet is in nice shape, with a good original Bakelite shine (not clear coated) and nary a scratch, chip, nor crack. The chassis uses the classic All American Five circuit, although perhaps this one is technically an All Canadian Five. Electrical restoration included replacement of all electrolytic and paper capacitors, new resistors where needed, a strong set of tubes, a full RF/IF alignment, cleaning of controls and tuner contacts, and installation of a new polarized power cord for improved safety. Sensitivity and sound quality are good. Lighted dial. 10-3/4"W x 6-1/4"H x 6-1/4"D. |
