A ONE-DAY WONDER!

Sony made some very good sounding and good looking table radios in the 70s and 80s, and this is a fine example. This radio boasts a 6-1/2" Pioneer cloth-surround speaker that puts out significant bass from this compact enclosure. With separate bass and treble controls, you can adjust the sound just the way you want. I've got this one working better than new by adding a voltage regulator that overcomes a original design weakness and allows this radio to handle today's bass-heavy program material even at high volume. Electrical restoration included replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, a sweep generator FM alignment for top-notch FM performance, cleaning of controls and switches, installation of a nice bright LED to light the dial (and it won't burn out again), and installation of a new polarized power cord. AM performance is excellent as well. The cabinet is cosmetically nice, with just a little wear of the chrome trim and slight evidence of a bump on the right rear corner. This is a great sounding radio for everyday use in your office, kitchen, bedroom, or family room. Fairly compact and lightweight, so shipping won't be too bad. 14-1/2"W x 9-1/4"H x 5-3/4"D.
